Hanover Hotel & McCartneys Bar

Popped in for a quick drink whilst visiting Liverpool. Nice friendly pub with nice atmosphere.

Super noisy but we knew this beforehand do this isn't factored in to our rating. What are the room's like? Our room was prerty dated, but was in good, clean condition. Good shower and plenty of soaps etc. Towels included. Couple of packs of biscuits and plenty of tea. Coffee and hot chocolate available. Bed was comfy and the linen was pretty decent quality. What about the breakfast? Breakfast was better than expected, and the staff were really nice and friendly. So top marks there. We had the full English. Sausage was not brilliant and the bacon was a little salty but both well cooked. Worth noting that it was made to order and arrived hot, not warm and uninviting like some places. This really makes a difference for us. What about the location? The location brilliant if you want to be in the heart of Liverpool. You really won't do much better. Value for money? I defy you to find a better hotel in this price range slap bang in the centre of any major city. Great value for money. Would we return??? Without hesitation YES.

Great little hotel, would highly recommend, very well run, staff are very helpful and will go the extra mile for you. Room was spotlessly clean, breakfast was included and made to order. The only negative was the noise on a night from surrounding night life. I already expected this from reading previous reviews so I came prepared with ear plugs, and if you close windows it's not to bad. Very enjoyable stay.

Stayed there for one night, it was a really nice experience. Staff was super friendly and helpful. @ the red-haired sir with glasses: I loved your colorful shirts! Didn't hear any noise from the bar, but with open windows the seagulls' cries woke me up at some point. Which was not to nad anyway. Will come back if I go to Liverpool again.

We are two older best female mates from Western Australia and have stayed here the last few nights. The Hotel is a bit quirky and a bit old but there is something about it that we just loved it. Staff are absolutely fabulous, so friendly especially Shelley our favourite young barmaid .(dark hair) Breakfast is fantastic (full English) There is a bar down the side that plays Karaoke till quite late but the music was fabulous, but shut your window lol. Loved the Beatles memorabilia everywhere. We loved it and would stay again. Met some really lovely people

When in Liverpool this is one of the bars I will regularly have a drink. Great service a great atmosphere, in my humble opinion, McCartneys bar is a great bar.

Stunning place is great for beatles fans definitely. The room was comfy, very friendly staff enjoyed my night. There definitely would stay again. Food was really lovely beautiful.. room was nice was just a really nice place

Absolute value for your dime, rooms are as advertised and bathrooms look like they have been renovated, rooms are kept very clean, I stayed for two nights and would have been happy to keep my towels but housekeeping had been thoughtful enough to give me new ones. Special thanks to Mo the chef who cooks up a banging brekkie every morning for everyone, love a good fry up and this is probably one of the best looking ones in town! Check in was easy as it’s almost always staffed at either the bar or the lodging reception. Lady at the front desk also made check out seamless, with a possibility to leave your bags once you checked out. Kudos to the amazing style and iconic make up! Would 100% stay again as a solo traveller who is out and about for the majority of the day exploring Liverpool (everything is a stonethrow’s away, with the Royal Albert docks and waterfront within a 10-15 minutes stroll) . It feels like coming home and it’s not too busy at the bar during Monday/tuesday nights when I stayed, which is a nice touch of tranquility to come back to after a long day out. At night the front doors are secured and alarmed but it’s manned one can just ring the bell. Dependent on the room there might be an exhaust fan that runs right outside your window so for light sleepers that may pose an issue, though once you close the windows you could barely hear it.
